Recovering Old Entries

Oops, some old entries were lost

Oops!

But, now they’re back, sort of.

Every so often, when writing entries for the Bangkok Blog, I refer back to old entries that were posted in earlier versions of the Blog.  Given that I am a bit lazy, it’s often easier to refer back to earlier ramblings than write about the subject all over again. After all, I probably did a better job the first time around.  And if I do write about the same subject again, then referring back to earlier versions makes it seem like I’m actually doing more work.

Recently, in trying to refer back to an entry written in February 2006, I discovered that the links to all of the entries during that month were broken – hence the Oops dialog box shown above. It seems like all other links are working okay and it’s not clear why those February entries disappeared, but for whatever reason they did.  Maybe the Internet gods thought that what I had written during that month was really bad and decided to undertake a wholesale delete operation.

I had taken some precautions against this nasty action carried out by those Internet gods and had saved a lot of old stuff on a hard drive, now stuffed away in a drawer.  Luckily, I managed to find a backup of those February files and so in trying to maintain a complete record of the Blog, I am using this entry as another way to backup those entries.

This post includes a PDF file that contains all the entries produced in February of 2006. Some of them are very amusing.  (At least I think so.)  At any rate, this entry will ensure that those posts are not lost. Maybe I’ll even refer to some of them in future entries. After all, sometimes it’s better to look back then try to rewrite what has already been written.

The PDF file can be found below.
