I woke up at 3:45am today to catch a flight to Krabi, which is about 800km south of Bangkok. It’s a popular tourist town located in a Mueang Krabi district.
The company has bought land here and one of my jobs is to help determine best uses for it. While I have been to southern Thailand many times, I have never been to Krabi, which has a reputation of being a wonderful tourist spot that is quieter and perhaps even more picturesque than Phuket.
I’m not sure how much touristy stuff I will be able to do – probably very little – as I’m expected to be clever about land uses. However, I’ll need to see a good deal of the area and read as much as possible about the region. I’ll be here for until tomorrow night, so hopefully I’ll get to see enough to understand how we might look to use the land.
I only have a small iPad with me so this and tomorrow’s Bangkok Blog post will probably be short. (Actually I’m not really sure, yet, how to Blog on an iPad. I’ll find out I hope.)
What ended up happening
We arrived at about 11:00am after the normal airport hassles. However, the flight was short. The weather was lovely when we arrived. And then the day got busy. We went to various sites, met with various people, ate at various restaurants and generally never stopped. I didn’t return to the hotel until 11:00pm. My phone’s battery died so I couldn’t transfer photos. (I had taken a lot of photos and my phone is generally on its last legs.) Tomorrow will be even busier and I won’t return to Bangkok until after 11:00pm. So I’ve decided to put the Bangkok Blog on hold until Monday, when I’ll describe some of the highlights of this visit to Krabi. I won’t have any time while I’m here.
So please excuse the delay in getting more posts done this weekend. This short trip has and will be packed with no time for writing anything.
I’ll be back on Monday with highlights of this visit to a very lovely place.
