How many Fuller Brush columns can one person write? If you’re me, a lot. These brushes, that seem to be pretty popular all over Thailand, are a very important part of Thai culture, at least according to me. Everybody, rich or poor, has a bunch of Fuller Brushes in their homes. We even use them to keep our Spirit Houses clean and tidy.
Writing about Fuller Brushes goes way back. Here is a post from April 2023 and another from December 2022. This December Fuller Brush link has its own links that go back to 2007. (The 2007 link is one of the ancient Bangkok Blog entries. Perhaps it has historical merit.) There are lots more entries, but I don’t want to overburden you with too many links that you likely have no interest in reading.
But maybe you’ll read this one. (After all you’ve made it this far.)
The other day, I noticed a premium, very fancy, Fuller Brush sales vehicle. This vehicle wasn’t the ordinary heavy pushcart being manoeuvred by the Fuller Brush sales guy. No, this was a well organized, very tidy, motorized vehicle. Every brush had a place and was neatly positioned.
There’s not more to say. Take a look at the photos of this very tidy cart. What amazes me is how many of these Fuller Brush street vendors there are in Bangkok. Also, consider the fact that you can purchase these brushes at every hardware or department store and even at some of the million 7-eleven’s in Thailand. I guess there must be enough demand or immediate need to allow these street vendors to make a living.
Anyway, that’s it for yet another Fuller Brush entry. I’m sure there will be more.
