The final day of this visit means reporting on the food I’ve eaten

Today is my last day in Bangkok and so, as always, this entry will concentrate on the food that I’ve eaten during this visit.  There are less photos than on previous trips because I spent 6 days in China during this visit.  The food there was really good, as I’ve already reported, so there’s no need to be repetitious and talk about it again.

As always, almost all the food shown above is from the hospital’s kitchen.  And, as always, it continues to be amazing.  Some of the meals were so incredible that I’m betting you’d pay a lot of money in a very fancy restaurant for this quality and, in many cases, for the presentation. How about beautifully prepared large shrimp rolls or salmon for lunch? You’d pay for these dishes, for sure.  But just remember, this food was not made specifically for me.  It’s the same food that all patients receive.  I have to believe that the quality of the meals served really does help in patient recovery.  Or, as I’ve said in the past, maybe patients want to stay longer just for the food.

As always, this visit has been very busy, particularly with the engrossing interlude in China.  We now have many projects on the go, including a Bangkok wide virtual home care initiative dealing with everyone from kids to seniors.  Our new school building is almost opened as is our new nursing home. We have over 30,000 new patients who have recently been registered in our system and our new clinic in a hugely dense part of downtown Bangkok is now opened and getting very busy.  And like everywhere else, there are political issues to be addressed and hopefully even resolved. There’s a lot of stuff going on.

For now, enjoy the food porn shots above and until the next time, good-bye from Bangkok.

    • Actually, it’s not because my first arrival meal turned out to be home made chicken soup and then mashed potatoes and chicken wings. That’s definitely not a come down.
